Now we are officially out of summer and the youngsters are back at school it is time to think where you might be able to have a few days away with your mobility scooter !

Where to go and what to do is the question….. Perhaps we have the answer for you, Llandudno in  North Wales has so much to offer and is so accessible for those using mobility scooters or wheelchairs. Billing itself as Wales ‘ Premier Resort this lovely Victorian town has so  much to offer.  Set on flat land between two the Great Orme and the Little Orme it is so easy for those with walking difficulties to get around.

If the weather happens to be kind to you there two separate beaches, North Shore and West Shore. You will find on the North Shore side one of the finest piers in the whole of the UK whilst the West Shore is lovely and sandy and is used by lots of activities including surfing and kiting.

For those who perhaps do not want to be as active then the Venue Cymru theatre, exhibition and conference centre always has something on to entertain you, this years panto will be Peter Pan. One of the real beauties of Llandudno though is the variety of accommodation on offer from lovely bed and breakfasts, guest houses and hotels that range from small private hotels up to the larger 4 star establishments most of which can offer disabled access and rooms. One hotel close to the Venue Cymru that always looks so nice and is so welcoming is the  Four Oaks Hotel Llandudno, it is conveniently located and will be an ideal place for you to enjoy for a short break. however you will find it is just one of hundreds in and around the town.

What else is there for you to enjoy, well if you visit before the end of October there is always the joy of taking the Great Orme Tramway up to the top from where you will have sweeping views of the bays on both sides out towards Anglesey on the one side or towards Rhyl  and  beyond to England  on the other. It is though perhaps a good idea to check disabled access to the Tramway before making plans.

Llandudno is home to some of the UK’s leading stores as well as lots of small private retailers so it is possible to find something for everyone in the town.  Recently opened is the Mostyn Gallery with wonderful exhibitions of both Welsh  and international art with its own shop and cafe you could spend the whole day there.

Whilst we started talking about Llandudno as being an ideal centre for those with mobility scooters, it is also of course an ideal place to stay and use as a centre for visiting such fantastic places like the neighbouring town of Conwy, it might be difficult getting your wheels up on to the walls and into the castle though but worth checking out just the same. The area surrounding Llandudno has so much to offer including of course the Snowdonia mountain range and the lovely town of Betws Y Coed which is known as the gateway to Snowdonia.

Do not  just take our word for it though check Llandudno out for yourself you will find it so easy to get around either in a mobility scooter, wheelchair and even those with walking difficulties and of course the fittest of you will also enjoy it, we feel certain that your first time to visit will be very enjoyable and certainly will not be your last.
