Adjustable beds or Storage beds which is best for you?

With space at a premium in most homes it is sensible to decide if you need a storage bed or an adjustable bed.

Of course it is possible to get some drawer space in the base of adjustable beds but it is always restricted because of the action and motor used to help the user to move once they are in bed.

Storage beds come in sorts of different styles but greatly overlooked are those which have an ottoman style base to them. People have tended to dismiss ottoman style beds because they were too difficult to lift up but that is no longer a problem.

With Sprung slatted bases that are using easy lift gas struts it is just so easy to lift the action up to allow you access to the whole of the base giving much more storage room than possible with a drawer divan.

The new ranges of Ottoman beds come with fully lined bases so it is safe and easy to store anything inside them from clothing through to needy things like incontinence pads, but if you perhaps do not want to lift the whole of the unit up every time then it is possible on certain models to have drawers as well.

With this variation the base is slightly deeper to allow for both the ottoman are and the drawers below it. So you can have all the space of the ottoman and 2 drawers on a single bed or 4 drawers on double, king and super kings sizes. These sets can all come with a choice of legs castors or glides.

If you do not  need to move the bed except very occasionally, then it is probably best to go for a set of the legs. If the bed is sitting on a carpet then the castors will make it much easier than the legs and with the advent of laminate and wooden floors it would be so much better to have glides fitted they are less likely to mark the flooring.

Whatever bed you need there is a solution for you, obviously if you are in a situation which means you need to raise your feet or sleep with your head slightly raised or even to be able to just your position during the night then you need an adjustable bed and perhaps have some drawers for some  limited storage.
