Why more and more people need incontinence pads.

As the population ages and people need more care it becomes more sensible to use incontinence pads for a lot of them.

If someone is staying in their own home, which is always something that they would prefer, but struggle with mobility and perhaps cannot always get themselves to the toilet when the carers or their relatives are not there then incontinence pads do  really make sense.

An incontinence pad is a small highly absorbent multi layered sheet that is used normally on a bed to protect against the problems caused for people whilst in bed. Not only for people with continuing incontinence problems but also in most  hospitals especially after operations whilst patients recover from the after affects of the anesthetic.

Whilst it is possible to have reusable pads it is much more likely that institutions and even private individuals will use disposable versions in this day and age.

As well as being used on beds it is also totally normal for the incontinence pads now to be used as panty liners, inserts, pads or even replacing normal underwear.

There are numerous manufacturers supplying to nursing and care homes as well as to the private trade but you can feel reassured that if you need to start using this sort of product that the ones with ‘Age UK’ labels will be of the highest quality. Whilst not too many years ago this sort of product could not be mentioned it is now so sensible that we all are aware of the help and extra feeling of confidence that incontinence pads can bring to people of all ages. Next time you are in hospital or are visiting someone in hospital have a quick sneaky look and you will see a separate pad under the patient and because it is in hospital no one give it a second thought and none of us should they are a useful  addition to our everyday life.
